Septic Inspection Process
We follow a six step process to ensure a smooth inspection.
GET A SEPTIC SYSTEM HISTORY
Obtain records from your local government regarding when the septic system was installed and whether any maintenance records are available. This helps determine the age of your system and identify any past issues.
LOCATE YOUR TANK
Tanks can be tough to find—even if records exist. We use advanced tools like ground probes and ground-penetrating radar to locate your tank and provide a drawing showing its exact location for future maintenance.
OBSERVE GROUND CONDITIONS
Clues above ground can reveal a lot. Lush green grass, pooling water, or foul odors may signal a leak, clog, or overflow. That’s why every inspection starts above ground.
CONFIRM TANK INTEGRITY
We inspect the inside of your tank—checking levels, baffles, tees, pipes, and the overall condition. Once pumped out, we examine the tank walls for cracks or weaknesses.
ENSURE SYSTEM FUNCTION
A septic system is a flow—not a fix-it-and-forget-it. We test the system in action by running water and observing flow and drainage. Homes built after 2000 may have filters that we also inspect.
RECEIVE DETAILED REPORTING
